T. Natarajan is a left handed batsman and a left arm medium bowler. In December 2020, he made his international debut for the Indian cricket team. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he represents Sunrisers Hyderabad, and in domestic cricket, he represents Tamil Nadu. When he played in India’s 2020–21 tour of Australia, he became the first Indian cricketer to make his international debut in all three formats on the same tour.
On 5 January 2015, he made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy. On January 29, 2017, he made his Twenty20 debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament. On September 20, 2018, he made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In February 2017, he was purchased for 3 crore (equivalent to 3.4 crore or US$470,000 in 2019) by the Kings XI Punjab team for the 2017 Indian Premier League. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in January 2018.
On December 2, 2020, Natarajan made his ODI debut for India against Australia, taking his first international wicket when he dismissed Marnus Labuschagne.
