Shreyas Iyer is a right handed batsman and a right arm leg break bowler. He made his T20I debut for India against New Zealand on 1 November 2017, however he did now not bat. On 4 November 2017, he was given his first batting possibility and scored 23 runs in 21 balls.

He made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka on 10 December 2017. On 18 December 2019, in the 2d ODI in opposition to the West Indies, Iyer scored 31 runs in a single over, the maximum scored by using a batsman for India in a single over in ODIs.

He missed a whole season of IPL 2021 due to an Injury in his left hand muscle.
