More Information About
Sarfaraz Khan plays for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Sarfaraz was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2015 for $5 million after playing in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup. He is the youngest player to have ever played in an IPL match, at the age of 17. He scored 11 runs off 7 balls in his first game against Chennai Super Kings. He made a strong start to the 2016 season with a cameo of 35 runs off 10 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He targeted the bowling of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, the tournament’s best bowler, in the 19th over, scoring four fours and a six. His teammate Chris Gayle commented that “He’s too young and he’s like a son to me. He’s definitely one for the future and one must keep an eye on him.”
Sarfaraz had a disappointing season, scoring just 51 runs in six innings while striking out at a pace of 124.39. RCB finally let him go ahead of the 2019 season. For just 2.5 million dollars, the Punjab Kings signed him for the following season. Former RCB teammates K L Rahul, Chris Gayle, and Mandeep Singh were instrumental in his transition. He scored 180 runs in eight matches, averaging 45 and hitting a high of 67 runs.
