Sandeep Sharma plays for Punjab cricket team in domestic cricket. On May 11, 2013, Sharma made his IPL debut for Kings XI Punjab against Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking three wickets for 21 runs. Sharma claimed 3/22 from four overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2017 IPL, becoming the first bowler to dismiss the legendary trio of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers in the same game.
In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in January 2018.
Sharma was named in the 15-man squad for the limited overs tour of Zimbabwe in July 2015 after an impressive domestic season with Punjab and Kings XI Punjab. On July 17, 2015, he made his Twenty20 International debut against Zimbabwe.
