Samuel Matthew Curran is professionally known as Sam Curran. He is an English professional cricket player who is a left-hand batsman and a Left-arm medium-fast bowler. The International Cricket Council (ICC) named Curran as one of the five breakout stars in men’s cricket in 2018 and the 2019 edition of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack chose him as one of their five Cricketers of the Year.
He made his Test debut against Pakistan on 1 June 2018, his ODI debut against Australia on 24 June 2018, and his T20I debut against New Zealand on 1 November 2019. He played six games scoring 201 runs and taking 7 wickets to help his team England Under-19s at the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Sam is the son of former Zimbabwe professional cricket player Kevin Curran. He has two brothers, Tom Curran and Ben Curran both are cricket players.
