More Information About

Rashid Khan is a right handed batsman and a right-arm leg break bowler. In September 2019, he captained the team in a one-off Test against Bangladesh, making him the youngest cricketer to lead a Test match side at the age of 20 years and 350 days.

In a One Day International (ODI) match in June 2017, he had the best bowling figures for an associate nation. He became the youngest player to top the ICC Player Rankings for bowlers in One-Day Internationals in February 2018. He also topped the ICC Player Rankings for T20I bowlers later that month. Following his results at the 2018 Asia Cup, he rose to the top of the ICC’s all-rounder rankings in September 2018.

Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him for 4 crores in February 2017 for the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL). He was also one of the two first Afghan players to be picked for the Indian Premier League.

He made his IPL debut in the first match of the 2017 season, taking two wickets as the Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs. With 17 wickets from 14 matches, he finished the tournament as the tournament’s sixth-highest wicket-taker.

Khan played in his 100th Twenty20 match on May 5, 2018, during the 2018 Indian Premier League. He was called Man of the Match after taking two wickets and causing a run out.
