Piyush Chawla is an Indian professional cricket player. Initially, he played for India U-19 against the England U-19 team in 2004-2005. Chawla is also played the home series against Australia U-19 2005-2006, where they won the five-match limited-overs series 4–1, taking eight wickets. He says his shorter height has always been a boon rather than a curse for him it, according to Chawla spin, gives him enough space to flight the ball which is quite useful for the spin bowler. He was the leading wicket-taker for Gujarat within the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, with 32 dismissals in six matches. He was also the leading wicket-taker for Gujarat within the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with sixteen dismissals in eight matches. He made his Test debut on 9 March 2006 against England. On 12 May 2007, he made his ODI debut against Bangladesh. He played for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL auction from 2008-2013. From 2014-2019, he played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL auction. In 2020, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for the 2020 Indian Premier League. In February 2021, Chawla was bought by the Mumbai Indians within the IPL auction before the 2021 Indian Premier League.
