Kuldeep Yadav plays for India and for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. He became the second Indian after Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take 5-wicket hauls in all three formats, and the third spinner after Imran Tahir and Ajantha Mendis. He became the first Indian bowler to take two hat-tricks in international cricket on December 18, 2019, against the West Indies. In his 58th innings, Yadav became the fastest spin bowler for India to take 100 wickets in ODI cricket, in the second ODI against Australia on January 17, 2020.
In 2012, he was a member of the Mumbai Indians team, and in 2014, he joined the Kolkata Knight Riders, representing them in the 2014 Champions League Twenty20. In the 2018 IPL auction, KKR bought him back for INR 5.8 crores in January 2018. He only played 9 matches in the 2019 edition, taking 4 wickets and scoring 12 runs. He collapsed during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens, after RCB’s Moeen Ali smashed three sixes and two fours in his final over. After the match between RCB and KKR at Eden Gardens, Kuldeep Yadav did not play another match in the 2019 edition of the IPL.
