More Information About

Jason Holder made his One Day International (ODI) debut in January 2013. Holder made his 100th ODI appearance for the West Indies during the 2019 Cricket World Cup in June. According to the official ICC Test rankings, he was ranked as the best all-rounder in the world in January 2019. He was elected Test Player of the Year by Cricket West Indies in August 2019.

Holder was signed by the Chennai Super Kings at a base price of $20,000 in the IPL auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him in 2014. The Sunrisers Hyderabad also gave him a batting promotion, sending him to bat ahead of all-rounders Karn Sharma and  Parvez Rasool. Kolkata Knight Riders  purchased him in the 2016 year auction. In the four matches he played, Holder scored 22 runs at 5.50 and took two wickets at 51.50. He joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2020 as a substitute for  Mitchell Marsh, who was injured. Holder has been signed by Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for the 2019 County Season.

His first breakthrough ODI performance came in the first match against Pakistan in July 2013, when he took 4 for 13, though his performance was overshadowed by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi‘s seven-wicket haul as West Indies were bowled out for 98. Holder put in a good all-round show in the third ODI of the series, scoring 19 not out off 9 deliveries with Kemar Roach to lead his team to a tie.
