Ishan Kishan is an Indian professional cricket player who is a left-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. On 6 November 2016, he played against Delhi in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy and made the highest score 273 runs for Jharkhand. In January 2018, he was purchased by Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction for Rs. 6.2 Crores. He was the leading run-scorer with 405 runs in 9 matches for Jharkhand in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kishan made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for India against England, scoring 56 off 32 before getting out lbw to Adil Rashid on 14 March 2021. Indian won the match by 7 wickets and Kishan won the Man of the Match award. He was the captain of the Under-19 Indian cricket team that reached the finals but lost the Under-19 West Indies at Dhaka.
His friends gave him the nickname “Definite” after the role of “Definite Khan” played by “Zeishan Quadri” in the film “Gangs of Wasseypur (2012)“.
