FUBU

John created FUBU with his mother in Hollis, Queens. When John first had the concept for a clothing line for young men, his mother taught him how to sew and backed him by allowing him to use her home to expand the firm. Globally, FUBU has made nearly $6 billion in sales. FUBU is on display in the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture.

The Shark Group

The Shark Group, brand management and consulting organization, is led by John, who is also the founder and CEO. The headquarters of the Shark Group are in Manhattan, New York.

Other Success

1. In 2015, John co-founded Daymond John’s Success Formula. A programme that teaches entrepreneurs and company owners how to establish and develop their companies.

2. Daymond John’s Success Formula was renamed Next Level Success in September 2019.

3. The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship is one of the organisations with which the programme collaborates.

4. Each year, two students are awarded a $1,500 stipend through the programme. The goal of this scholarship is to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.
