Chetan Sakariya plays for Saurashtra in domestic cricket. On February 22, 2018, he made his List A debut for Saurashtra in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. On November 20, 2018, he made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, taking five wickets in the first innings.
Sakariya was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for 1.2 crores in the IPL auction in February 2021, ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
When Sakariya’s brother was playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, he committed suicide. Chetan Sakariya was very loyal to his brother, and the Rajasthan Royals gave him a jersey with his late brother’s initials “R.K” imprinted on it. The jersey even has the message “Miss you bro” written on it.
