More Information About

Andre Russell plays for the West Indies and for Jamaica in West Indian domestic cricket. He is commonly regarded as one of the all-time great T20 cricketers. Russell scored a century and a hat-trick in the same Twenty20 match in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League, being just the second player to score a century and a hat-trick in the same Twenty20 match.

He was purchased for $450,000 by the Delhi Daredevils during the 2012 Indian Premier League  Players Auction. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2014 season and has been a crucial batsman for the team in the later overs of matches. He was appointed to the Cricinfo IPL XI for the 2015 season as a result of his performances. He was on track to win the IPL Super Striker award in 2018, which is given to the player with the highest strike rate in the competition, before his teammate Sunil Narine beat him to it.

In a match against  Mumbai Indians during the 2021 Indian Premier League, he took 5/15 off just two overs on April 13, 2021. He scored 9 runs off 15 balls with the bat as Kolkata lost by 10 runs.
