Torrenegra was born in the Colombian city of Bogota. At the age of 14, he created Apache A-X Cybernetic Enterprises Limited in 1993.
Torrenegra relocated to the United States in 1998. In Miami, Florida, he met his wife, Tania Zapata, a voice actress. Torrenegra Labs was created by them in 2000. In 2003, Torrenegra and his wife established Voice123, a company that used reverse auctions to revolutionize the voiceover market. By 2007, the company had surpassed $1 million in sales, and by 2016, it had about 150,000 registered voice actors and over 75,000 agency, clients. Torrenegra established LetMeGo, a firm that competes with hotels for bookings, in 2008. The company went out of business in 2011.
Bunny Studio was founded by Torrenegra, his wife, and Lucho Molina in 2012 with the debut of VoiceBunny, afterward renamed Bunny Studio, an API for professional human voices.
He was part of an immigrant-entrepreneur group that visited with President Barack Obama in 2013. He also seeks to strengthen Colombia’s government’s support for innovation.
