Sunil Narine plays for the West Indies. He topped the ICC Twenty20 bowler rankings with 784 points as of March 8, 2014. Saeed Ajmal of Pakistan finished second with 714 points, while Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka finished third with 674 points. He was called to both the ICC and Cricinfo World ODI XI for his performances in 2016.
He was named the most valuable player in the Indian Premier League in 2018. This was his second MVP award, following his debut season in 2012. He was appointed to the Trinbago Knight Riders‘ Caribbean Premier League squad in July 2020. Narine made his 100th List A appearance in February 2021, during the 2020–21 Super50 Cup. He is a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders of the Indian Premier League since 2019.
He is the first bowler in Twenty20 history to bowled a maiden in a Super Over.
