Pat Cummins plays for New South Wales in domastic cricket. He was the world’s top-ranked bowler at the end of 2019 and 2020, according to the ICC Player Rankings. The International Cricket Council (ICC) elected him Test Cricketer of the Year in January 2020. In the 2020 edition of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, he was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year for his performances during the 2019 English season.
The Indian Premier League’s Kolkata Knight Riders purchased Cummins for the 2014 season. He was purchased for 4.5 crore by the Delhi Daredevils team in February 2017 for the 2017 Indian Premier League. He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for 5.4 crore in the 2018 IPL auction. Cummins was later forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.
He was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders for $15.5 crore in the 2020 IPL auction, making him one of the most valuable overseas players in IPL history. Cummins was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021.
