Siddarth Kaul was a part of the victorious India Under-19s team at the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In 2007, he made his first-class debut for Punjab.
A number of members of the victorious India Under-19s team from the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and other listed youngsters were named as players to be drafted by teams in the Indian Premier League for the league’s inaugural season, while other youth players will have to be selected to play for their local teams. The Kolkata Knight Riders, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, and captained by Sourav Ganguly, selected Kaul.
In 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad made an offer for him, but he was benched for the entire season. The kiddy pacer shot to prominence in 2017 after taking 16 wickets in ten games for SRH. He bowled some vital overs for David Warner’s team and provided an excellent foil for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in January 2018. He also had a strong 2018 season as a key cog in SRH’s bowling attack, which helped them reach their second finals. Cricbuzz called him to the IPL XI of the tournament.
