Hanuma Vihari plays for Andhra Pradesh in Indian domestic cricket.
In the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League, Vihari played in Sunrisers Hyderabad. Vihari bowled as an off-spinner in one of the league matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Hyderabad, and removed Chris Gayle for just one run. In the same match, he also scored an unbeaten 46 while chasing. Sunrisers eventually won the match by a super-over.
He was appointed to India B’s squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018. The Delhi Capitals purchased him in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League in December 2018. He was elected captain of India A for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. The Delhi Capitals released him ahead of the 2020 IPL auction.
