More Information About
Jos Buttler is a right-handed batsman and a wicket keeper. Buttler is regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the world.
Buttler was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for 44 million (US$617,000) in the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018. Buttler struggled to get off to a good start for the Royals, scoring just 29 runs in his first seven innings. Midway through the tournament, he was promoted to open the batting order, and his success skyrocketed. He went on to become just the second batsman in IPL history to score fifty or more in five consecutive games. Against Chennai Super Kings, he hit an unbeaten 95 off 60 balls, his highest score of the season.
Buttler began the IPL batting at number four, repeating his performance from the previous season by scoring a fast 25 in the first game. After Ben Stokes fractured his finger in the team’s first match, Jos was promoted to the opening berth once more. He scored his first IPL and T20 century in 56 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 2, 2021, and totaled 124 runs in just 64 balls. Rajasthan Royals won the match thanks to his contribution. In the game, he was called “Man of the Match.”
Buttler’s highest T20 score of 124 from 64 balls came for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 Indian Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, breaking Jonny Bairstow’s record for the highest score by an England player in the IPL. His best Twenty20 International (T20I) score is 83 not out off 52 balls, which he scored against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in March 2021.
