Shreyas Gopal plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket. In 2011, he appeared in three One-Day Internationals for India’s Under-19 cricket team. He led Karnataka at different age groups, including Under-13, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-19.
In 2013, Gopal made his Karnataka debut. Gopal scored the first hat-trick in Irani Cup history against the Rest of India on February 12, 2014, to help Karnataka win the tournament. He was named to the India Blue team’s squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August 2019.He was appointed to India A’s squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018.
In the 2014 IPL auction, he was purchased from the Mumbai Indians, with whom he spent four seasons. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in January 2018. In the 2019 Indian Premier League, he took a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 30, including the wickets of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Marcus Stoinis. He was appointed to the Cricinfo IPL XI for his performances during the 2019 IPL season.
