Chris Woakes is an English cricket player who was the part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Woakes made his International Twenty20 debut against Australia in Adelaide on January 12, 2011. He opened the bowling figures of 1/34 and then went on to score the winning runs.
He made his ODI debut against Australia on 21 January 2011. In his second One Day International took figures of 6/45. Woakes made his Test debut in the final Test of the 2013 Ashes series against Australia, taking 1/96 in the first innings. Woakes played his first Test of the 2014 summer in the third Test against India, after being named in the squads against Sri Lanka and India.
Woakes was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2017 Indian Premier League auction, and he went on to take 17 wickets in 13 matches, with best figures of 3/6. He was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL auction, and he appeared in five matches for them, taking eight wickets. RCB let him go ahead of the 2019 IPL auction, where he went unsold.
He was purchased by Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL auction ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League, but he did not participate in the tournament. Delhi has signed him for the 2021 season.
In 2017, Woakes tied knot with Amie Louise Woakes and the couple welcomed their first child a daughter, Laila Louise in 2018.
