Jasprit Bumrah is an Indian professional cricket player. After a successful season with the Mumbai Indians at the Indian Premier League, and together with his domestic team Gujarat, he was named in India’s squad for its 2015–16 series against Australia, as a replacement to an injured Mohammed Shami.
Bumrah made his Test debut against South Africa on 5 January 2018. He is the primary Asian bowler to require five wickets in a very check period of play in South Africa, England, and Australia within the 2015-2016 season and he is also the highest wicket-taker in test matches in a debut year with 48 wickets in 8 matches.
Bumrah made his T20I debut against Australia on 26 January 2016. In August 2016, he claimed the most wicket (28) taker bowler in Twenty20 internationals against West Indies in two matches in one calendar year surpassing the record of Dirk Nannes.
Bumrah gained prominence together with his unorthodox action and his ability to bowl yorkers at the correct time and perform well within the death overs. He has an abnormal, sling-arm action and matched with natural pace, and a peculiar unleash purpose of his deliveries makes it laborious for the batsmen to choose him up early. He bowls outside the off-stump or shorts quite systematically. He played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League since 2013.
Bumrah from a middle-class family. when he was 5 years old, his father Jasbir Singh died. His mother Daljit Bumrah is a school teacher in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His mother appeared in the Netflix documentary Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians in 2019 where she was emotional about the cricketing success of her son. Bumrah married model and Star Sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan in Goa on 15 March 2021.
